Refunds and cancellations

How deposits, cancellations, and incomplete reviews are handled for Devkernel Base engagements.

This policy applies to commissioned macroeconomic indicator impact reviews, rate decision briefs, and portfolio exposure sessions. It does not cover products we do not sell (software subscriptions, physical goods, or course seats).

Eligibility

Refunds are considered when an engagement is cancelled in line with the timelines below, when we are unable to deliver for reasons within our control, or when a release is postponed such that the agreed scope cannot be fulfilled.

Timeframes

  • More than five business days before the agreed start of work or release window: full refund of fees paid, including deposits.
  • Two to five business days before: fifty percent of the engagement fee is refundable; the remainder covers reserved analyst time.
  • Less than two business days before, or after work has started (including drafting the framing note): fees are non-refundable except where we cancel.

Full and partial refunds

A full refund applies when we cancel, when a release is cancelled by the statistical authority or central bank and no substitute scope is agreed, or when cancellation meets the earliest timeframe above. A partial refund applies in the mid-window timeframe or when only part of a multi-release package remains undelivered.

Non-refundable items

  • Work already delivered (framing notes, memoranda, briefs, session summaries).
  • On-site briefing costs already incurred (room booking or travel agreed in writing).
  • Portions of a retainer corresponding to releases already covered.

Process

Email [email protected] with the engagement reference, reason for the request, and payment details used. We confirm eligibility within five business days.

Processing time and method

Approved refunds are returned by the original payment method within fourteen business days of approval. Bank transfer fees charged by your institution are outside our control.

Cancellations and rescheduling

You may reschedule a portfolio exposure session once without charge if you give at least three business days’ notice. Rate briefs and impact reviews tied to a fixed release date cannot always be rescheduled; we will propose a substitute print or a credit toward a later engagement where possible.

Deposits and no-shows

Deposits secure analyst time around a release. Missed clarification calls included in an engagement are not refunded separately; we will offer one alternative slot. Failure to provide mandate information by the agreed date may be treated as cancellation under the mid- or late-window rules.

Work already started

If drafting has begun, completed sections remain payable. Unused future components of a package may be credited or partially refunded as described above.
