Impact review

Macroeconomic Indicator Impact Review

A full written review of how a named macro release is likely to reprice the rates, FX, and equity exposures you specify.

Written memorandum + short call · 3–7 business days typical · From £2,400 per release

Who it is for

Investment committees, multi-asset desks, and family offices that already receive the raw print but need a second pair of eyes on how that print travels into their specific holdings. Typical clients hold UK gilts, sterling credit, or cross-border equity sleeves and face a CPI, GDP, labour, or PMI release within the next fortnight.

What you receive

  • A pre-release framing note (one to two pages) stating the consensus path, the surprise thresholds that matter for your book, and the competing narratives already in the market.
  • A post-release impact memorandum (typically six to ten pages) covering curve and FX implications, sector or factor tilts, and a short list of watchpoints for the following forty-eight hours.
  • A thirty-minute clarification call within two business days of delivery.

What is included

Indicator selection (one primary release, up to two secondary related prints), mapping against the mandate you disclose, scenario paths (base / hawkish surprise / dovish surprise or equivalent), and plain-language implications for the asset classes you name.

What is excluded

Trade recommendations that constitute regulated advice, live dealing support, access to proprietary data terminals, or ongoing daily commentary. If you need recurring coverage of several releases each month, ask about a retainer after the first review.

Provider and place

Reviews are prepared by Devkernel Base analysts in London. Delivery is remote by secure document transfer; optional in-person briefings are available at Level 14, 62 Gresham Street, London EC2V 7EL by appointment.

Process and timeline

  1. Brief — You send the indicator, the holdings or mandate summary, and the hard deadline.
  2. Scope call — We confirm feasibility, fee, and the delivery window relative to the release.
  3. Framing note — Issued before the print when the calendar allows.
  4. Impact memorandum — Issued after the release, timed to your committee or desk rhythm.
  5. Clarification call — Optional but included; book it when the note lands.

Standard turnaround is three to seven business days around a scheduled release. Same-day post-release notes are available for Bank Rate and major CPI prints when booked at least five business days ahead.

Preparation we need from you

A concise description of exposures (asset class, region, duration bucket, or sector list), any constraints the committee has already set, and whether the note will be read by a CIO only or a wider group. We do not need account numbers or client names.

Pricing basis

From £2,400 for a single UK-focused release with a defined book. Cross-border or multi-asset mandates, compressed deadlines, and dual-release packages are quoted separately. See Rates for guidance.
